Oh, Albany, that's right.

79 Devil

OK - you're right. We never play tough out-of-conference away games. Ever. That's why Uncicon is so much better than Icon16.

Now, go back to your board and don't come back, or I'll ban you for 2 weeks. The only reason you post here is to piss people off (and you really do a good job at that), so I'm not giving you any more slack.

Capisce?

And i just pointed out where we played Temple. now you played at Kentucky who really sucks this year, and Ohio State was part of the ACC/Big Ten challenge, so you do understand that you didn't schedule that. I'd venture to say that Temple is evey bit as good as Kentucky this year, so tell us where your team was so much better at scheduling.
ElDuke Wrote:And you struggled with a sub .500 Georgia Tech team while Temple just whipped top 20 Xavier. What's your point again?

Exactly. No " #1 " should be struggling with Georgia Tech.
stack Wrote:No, point is we TRIED to play teams ranked in Top 25 on THEIR floor. Some teams just didn't hold up to Top 25 long enough. Had players stayed, we would've played at a Top 5 Ohio State & a Top 15 Kentucky. You guys may as well move Cameron to Madison Square Garden since that's the only place you'll play a OOC top team.

"Coach K likes to play games that simulate NCAA tourney games."

Give me one example. Temple? Cornell?

'79 has already cut ya off, but I'll give you the same example you eluded to but would not say... Pittsburgh in Madison Square Garden, it was scheduled to simulate a NCAA tourney game.

It's not Duke's fault that they decided to play better and more competitive games than glorified scrimmages against 7-8 Kentucky, 8-10 Rutgers and 5-10 Penn.
Back to the topic at hand, I feel the first four teams separated a bit from the rest. The next 10+ teams are just going to move up and down as they lose. Duke just hasn't lost in a couple of weeks.
duke deserves their ranking until they show otherwise.

K works wonders, as much as I hate to admit it.

I am sure y'all will thump clem's son today.
^ not so fast my light blue friend. Clemson gave UNC all they could handle. They are a pretty good team. This could be the game of the day.

Just saying.........

Fully agreed, Denver. This one has me VERY nervous.
So hows everyone feeling now?
stack, cry me a river ya lil beeyatch LOL!

I feel K is a hell of a coach and had a pretty good game plan to limit Clemson's strength. I think the still punished us inside, and reacted well in the 2nd half.
I'm proud of how Duke responded with <4 minutes left in the game.

I was disappointed after the game but knew they were going to lose sooner or later the way they were playing. To be honest, the Miami game has me concerned too. If we had to lose now is the time to do it. They had been reading their press clippings IMHO. That said, we shot 38% and still had a chance to win the game at the end. Maryland wanted it more. Congrats to them.
Come visit the UNC board and check out Padre's biorhythm threads before and after a game. It is amazing how accurate a picture they paint.
The only poll that matters is the last one.
BTW, right now I think Kansas is head and shoulders above everyone else.

Well, I guess this board should start to get busy again.
This season is shaping up to be one of K's all-time best coaching jobs, IMO. 6 Feb should be very interesting...
I dont expect Duke to win @UNC......It will be interesting if Duke gets through the next 2 at 2-0......UMD is big upfront...and its a UMD, they will be pumped....VT will be playing as if the National Title is on the line Greenberg like Gary puts this game up as the #1.

If Duke continues the pressure D like they did against Clemson and FSU (to an extent)...I think they should wear down the VT guards and the short bench, the same with UMD...Vasquez is a solid PG but the pressure D could get to him, who knows.

That said, UNC is a good team, its obvious they have a weakness (at times by not playing D).....I tend to look it 1 stat from any game...that is the score at half and the final.

UMD put of 41 in the 1st half and 41 in the second....GT put up 44(IIRC) at the half to UNCs 48.....those are 80pt games...and 80pt games mean you better be shooting well if you want to win.
Roy won't let those guys slack off on defense. I have to admit that at times they have looked much better on defense than in the past few years. They slipped up a bit over the past 3 games and it caught up to them. Some times the best teacher is a bad loss.
with 7 losses, its very apparent that UMD is playing to the level of its competition.....watching them for the period that I did, it was like watching a top 15 team.....yet, Northeastern and American laid them a lickin.

No question this Duke team has talent, but also they have serious interior size and rebounding issues. K has done a great job of compensating for those weaknesses, IMO.
