I know nyc. How many times can it happen to one school in so many sports?
The flip side - how many schools get the opportunity to blow it in high stakes situations as much as we do. :idunno

Just like Men's BB, football, baseball and pretty much everything besides competitive ugly check hoarding....
we had a better season than dook.

That was fugly ... 20-2 run to end the game ...
And somehow Candace Parker had a whopping ZERO fouls called on her in the 2nd half ... looks like the NCAA/ESPN got what they wanted ...

Pringle and Little fouling it and McCants missing several crucial minutes with leg cramps doomed us.

Tough ending to this season. I didn't expect a championship this season, but that's because I thought it was dook's year. When they went down, I felt like we had a good chance. One thing that hurt is that Latta seemed to drop off a bit in '07. I'm not sure if it was the injury or what, but she seemed like a shell of the player she was in previous years (although still one of the top players around).
Early look at next year:
Losing Latta and Little will hurt a bunch, but we should have a good crew coming back in Larkins, Miller, Pringle, McCants... and some of the youngsters like Breland, Claytor, DeWitt, etc.. We're also bringing in three good guards. We should be able to do some damage next year.

I still would never bet against us. But then again, if I did, with my luck, we'd go on and win!

It's been a really rough weekend (death of a really close friend) so I haven't gotten much of a chance to watch basketball. Naturally, I asked some kid who had the USA today this morning in class what had happened in the Tenn / UNC game and he said that Tennessee had won, and Carolina had basically choked another away.
This is really starting to hurt.
The questoins comes though, as stated above: is it better to be there and lose, or not be there at all? Sometimes, I think it could be either.

If it's still a requirement, maybe we should replace the swim test graduation requirement with a first aid for choking requirement.
It was deja vu all over again last night.

Maybe all our teams could use some motivational (i.e., finishing) lessons from Anson Dorrance. Seriously.
