wonder what if Dixon takes the job
Did any high level coach actually meet with Deb? Or did they all dismiss the job out of hand? I dont consider the gentleman they hired to be high level btw. Say what you want ndotr's.

In all seriousness, they could still end up with a good hire. Gottfried came out of nowhere and considering how bad our search was looking at the very end, it was a good hire. I think it's clear at this point though that they're not this elite job that some Carolina and Maryland fans seem to think they are.

Miller played this well so that he could get his big extension.

Miller told some very connected people, some in the Media, if he was offered the Md job, he'd take it. This was communicated back to the AD who made a good faith attempt to follow up and seal the deal. Apparently Miller had little intention to leave Arizona so long has he could tie up his extension at higher $$$! Maryland's offer was what Arizona needed to sweeten the pot.

Probably true. Sometimes we are to occupied putting other programs down to make our own look better, we drift into the surreal zone!

they certainly could, just like we could have had Beilein, Miller, Marshall or who knows who else had we had a competent AD, and just like we did this time

If that's the same Roy Williams whose Jayhawks' team lost to Gary Williams in 2002, I sure hope not. I would hope he's better than that.
