Looks like i might make a trip down your way a week from Friday. I'm heading down with Dad and a buddy of mine with the sole purpose of catching fish. I've been moving into a new house so I've been busy as hell for the past 3 months and i need a break. Let me know what's happening on the fishing front and let's get together for a sip or two of that Crown Royal.
Your timing is terrible. This weekend I have to work and next weekend, my stepson lives in Wilmington, he bought a boat down here from a fella in Pine Knoll Shores recently. He doesn't have a truck yet so I'm hauling it down there for him then the wife and I are going to shop and roam down at the river and cotton exchange. We'll hookup. Just so ya know, if you can get there, if you are familiar with Carrot Island, if you come out of Taylors Creek and go through the center cut(The little shallow shortcut through in the middle of the island that leads out to the inlet and tip of shack) as soon as you get through the cut there is a duckblind on the left. Just to the left of it there is a hole 8' to 10 ' deep. Most everywhere else in there is 3' deep. Find that hole and throw some Gulp Copper Penny shrimp in there. I think you'll be pleasantly suprised Smile They've been there for almost a month now, Reds and specks, one speck weighed 4.5
