Quote:"We got to see us playing like a team and playing like Coach wants us to play," said freshman John Henson. "And we got a chance to remember that it's our job to never let anything like this happen again."
Taken from a larger article by Adam Lucas from goheels.com. But this speaks volumes. It lets all of us know that our assumptions were correct. This team had no cohesion during the season. It was more of a "me" and less "we" attitude.
The last part of the statement gets me excited for next year. With Marshall talking out, Henson looking forward to making up for this season, and Barnes/Marshall/Bullock coming in, I think these guys are ready to put 2009-2010 FAR behind them!
Now THATS what I am talking about.

I have disagreed all year with any criticism of the players attitude, effort, etc. I think the team was simply obviously missing some of the required weapons for William's system, in particular on the wings.
I think it will be an entirely different story next year if Bullock & Barnes are as good as advertised, and if Williams settles on a lineup so that it can play without hesitation and develop a chemistry.
Henson, Barnes and Davis, with Zeller coming off the bench?? NASTY.
I'm afraid that you guys will make us all forget this season. Barnes is the real deal. Also a there's real possibility that Ed comes back as well. LDII made serious strides in the post season and Zeller showed what you missed with him being out.
^ El, are you dismissing the plumlees? Ryan Kelly? There's some talent up front. Young talent, but they've shown flashes of playing well.
The fact that you guys will improve doesn't mean we will be bad.
I think we will still be pretty good if only because we will still be loaded at the guards, but if Singler heads to the league then our frontcourt will obviously not be as solid. Funny that it's also because Zoubs and Thomas graduate...never thought that would be the case.
