I got a 700 dollar budget to purchase me a new rig. Best Buy has a deal on a Gateway dx 4300-11 for 500 and I can live with a 20" LCD. Any of yous guys stumble on something better give a dude a shout here. K<R<D

16X DVD-ROM

unbelievable
Went with the Gateway rig. 8 gigs of RAM, wow, add all the CPUs Ive had in my life and you barely get that much. DDR2 but benchmarks really well. I'm really pumped now that I added a GTS 250 video card. Drool Had to sacrafice the TV tuner out of the case but Hulu needs one in a box anymore?

And just for the record..... Windows 7 was MY idea.

I'm actually pretty impressed with it so far...the quad core CPU capability probably has a lot to do with that of course. I can play ALL the latest games at max resolution. Tip o' the cap the the pirate bay dot org for providing these games to test my system out. Tee hee.

Off to play Crash Time III...

...but...

I'm looking to purchase a used laptop. I'm not a gamer. I'm not a web designer. I'm just looking to have mobility, internet connection and to be able to use my Microsoft Office programs while watching Duke basketball. AT&T gave me a free router with my internet connection so I'd like something that got built in Wi-Fi. A built in web cam may be nice but not necessary.

Any tips on how much this should cost me?
If I understand you wish to watch espn360 while editing word docs on a lappy youll need at least a dual core processor and a good video chip. I'd look at refurbished deals at Best Buy or the like before I went the used route. I'd like to think 500 bucks would be a jumping off point but that is with zero research. Good Luck and keep us posted.
