Stop giving out chicken and go eat some, ya drunk!!!

Hey, he drank us to victory, so an Alka-Seltzer Award to Darkside.

I think?
Maybe DSH can edit when he sobers up?
A few words that come to mind about this game:
escaped
lucky
can't play like that again
whew

Honey-N-Hot Sauce: Danny and Wes. Offense and defense when we needed it most! Kudos fellas!
Give Floyd credit for defensing Tyler. But the young man is SO good, that he found a way to do EVERYTHING else besides score tonight. How ballzy is it to have sorta/kinda foul trouble, and YET stand and take charge after freakin' charge?!?! Give that man some BRE ASTESES! Extra crispy!
Wright took over whatever part of the game that Ginyard did not, and showed flashes of the next level. Please stay young man! You are special!
Terry gets drumsticks. I will admit that I expected NOTHING/NADA/ZILCH from him. I did not think Roy was bluffing with him after listening to how Rey sounded at last week's PC. Nasally and hollowed out like he might be sicker than we thought. Well turns out he WAS a MAJOR factor!
I LOVE THESE GUYS!!!
Makes "survive and advance" seem pretty darned appropriate. "Survived" indeed.
:lol @ DSH
Chicken: Brandon Wright. Another big game.
Lynch Chicken: Ginyard. That's no mistake. He deserved a little more than a biscuit.
Biscuits: Green and Terry.
I really thought we were done. These guys are getting tougher every game.
GO HEELS!!!
Chicken: Ginyard & Wright & Lawson (that STEAL!!!)
Lynch Biscuit: My bro-in-law who was in a serious car accident tonight (hit from behind on 77 near Mooresville in "unexpectedly" stopped traffic by another motorist apparent speeding (shock)) -- his most serious injury was a CD case to the back of the head & concussion AND he had the balls to call us hours later to gloat about USC's win (almost) (he's an NCSU/VPI fan)
Biscuits: all around -- it's a freaking NCAA tournament win, people, survive and advance. seriously, these kids found a way.
Take a look at the box score, would you ever believe we won that game?
Lynch to Ginyard
Biscuits to Wright
Kudos to DSH for going where he goes and doing what he does...
Survive & advance is a theme I'm seeing a lot.
I thought this team was done when the USC lead reached 16. And if this were just a game earlier in the season, they might not have recovered.
But these guys have matured & have withstood some rallies (EKU, MSU) & now a double-digit deficit when it's win or go home.
They found a way & didn't panic (I'm guessing). And it wasn't just Tyler & Ty doing all the work. It's great to see other guys pick it up when Tyler isn't able to provide all the scoring.

chick bird to the BRANDON......he was the man tonight
all the trimmings to COACH ROY WILLIAMS...he has these guys playing high caliber bassetball
gizzards and livers for Ginyard, Tywon, and the El train
dang, i'm a happy happy boy
sbunc92,
If I told you before the game that (1) UNC would shoot less than 15% from 3-pt, (2) UNC would shoot less than 40% from the field, (3) because of illness, Terry wouldn't start, would play only 5 minutes in the game, and would play only 1 minute in the second half, (4) Tyler wouldn't break double figures in combined scoring and rebounds, (5) Ty wouldn't break double figures in combined scoring and assists, (6) UNC would have a seven minute scoring drought to end the first half and begin the second half, (7) that UNC wouldn't score a field goal in the last 4:40 of the game and (8) in terms of the edge USC would have in offensive and defensive quickness, this game would be a replay of last year's game, would you have even watched?  I'm not sure I would have.
That said, Tim Floyd did a terrible job.  Floyd called one, that's right one, time out (and it was a THIRTY SECOND timeout) in the entire second half.  If USC was worn out, as the all knowing Billy Packer said they were, why didn't Floyd use his time outs to rest his team?  USC had seven players with over 10 minutes of playing time.  With the extra long media time outs in the tournament, with seven players having 10+ minutes of playing time, and with a coach having six time outs to burn, there is absolutely no excuse for USC being tired other than a failure by Floyd to understand what was happening.
That said, Tim Floyd quit on his team.  It was a two possession game with 49 second left in the game and Tim Floyd literally threw the towel (well, actually it was his program) in.  That's inexcusable.  A coach can get a technical for two reasons (1) to make a point with the referees or (2) because he lost his composure.  With regard to Floyd, I think #2 was the case in last night's game.  With regard to #1, 49 second left in the game is not the time to "make a point" with the referees.
That said, the sporting community of the entire United States spent the entire week saying that if Greg Oden's fifth foul in the Xavier games would have been an intentional foul in the first 39 minutes of the game, then it should have been an intentional foul in the last minute of the game.  There will be extended discussion this week that if travelling would have been called on Georgetown in the first 39 minutes of the game, it should have been called in the last minute of the game.  Well, if Taj Gibson's fifth foul would have been called in the first 39 minutes of the game, then it was right to call it a foul in the last minute of the game.
That said, the USC guys played their hearts out last night, it's shame their coach quit on them.
That said, as mad as I was at Packer refusing to admit he was wrong about Henderson's intentional foul and refusing to admit the Georgetown player travelled on that last possession, Packer did admit he was wrong in his repeated calls for Roy Williams to change his game plan because USC was too quick for UNC to handle man to man.
Packer admitted he was wrong?
DB,
During the game, Packer admitted that Coach Williams was right not to change his game plan. During the post-game interview, Packer complimented Coach Williams on his willingness to stick with his game plan even when UNC was done by 16 in the second half and the faith that showed in his players. Now the words "I was wrong" didn't actually come out of Packer's mouth, but what he said was clearly an admission that he was wrong.
Even that close to an admission marks last night as a strange one
This is the best Chicken Award thread ever! Props to Darkside for drinking the team to victory!!!
I just loved the fact that we won this game without using the zone defense that Billy Packer was trying to sell so hard during most of the game. Hey Billy, there's a reason you're behind the mic and not on the bench, so STFU!
Big ole chicken to Brandan for taking over, and a few pieces to Ty for taking USC apart in the second half with his dribble penetration. Ginyard and Green also get a place at the table for some awesome defense and timely rebounding. A big McNoggin to the whole team for their first half play.
nycfan, glad to hear your brother is okay.
So we're Charging this to Hansbrough then?
don bosco Wrote:Kudos to DSH for going where he goes and doing what he does...
There was a complete wardrobe change last night.
So... how is everyone else feeling this am?

^one advantage for me today is that when dr. nycfan and I split up, my drink was empty but I dared not move and hence drank nothing more for the rest of the game ... he, on the other hand, was under no such restrictsions and is in bed as we speak trying to recover
