well at least he is consistent. He's gone from not betting on any games to some bets and now to betting on his team every night.

he deserves to be in as a player.

They should put him in and make him an example on how not to behave in your personal life. Of course the board psychologists would point out that Charlie Hustle was just overcompensating for Pete Rose the man.

Pete Rose will be elected to the Hall of Fame....posthumously

Bane, the rules are pretty clear. Unlike other sports, the Baseball Hall of Fame most definitely considers outside, off field activities. And since the Black Sox scandal baseball has been especially harsh on anyone who plays in/manages and gambles on games.
IMO, he does not deserve to be in. His story changes continuously as time goes on.

as a man, he doesn't deserve it. i won't argue that. statistics-wise, he dang sure deserves to be in.

I've reached the point where his presence in the HoF doesn't create a strong reaction.
However, he should never be allowed back in baseball in any capacity ever again. As long as being blackballed from MLB prevents him from gaining eligibility for the HoF, he has to be kept out.
I don't see Rose getting in posthumously before Shoeless Joe Jackson does.

I completely agree and that's the real problem. What a lot of people don't realize is that while Rose would love to be in the Hall of Fame, what he wants more than anything is the chance to manage again.
If he ever got reinstated, I am afraid the Reds would rehire him in an hour.
That can't be allowed to happen.
