4 times the pay he gets running the tractor school program.....curious.
He's been there. It didn't work out.
Actually, I worry about Lowe. The man looks like a heart attack waiting to happen. He needs to drop some weight and figure out a better way to deal with the stress.
I suspect that if Sidney were to jump to the pros after this season, he'd be getting more lynching threats and derogatory namecalling from Wolfweb than Ty Lawson.
I think he'll need to win something before getting serious consideration for another pro job.
He'll stay at State ... he's carved out his niche it looks like and is here to stay. Looks like Roy and the coaches definitely have a strong respect for him and the coaches over at State now.

He is a fatty though - perhaps it's karma for all the poor Bunting jokes they've made.
Sid is clearly an awesome coach.

I really like him compared to other ACC coaches, for sure.

heckuva season- the man knows basketball

In short, you wish.
yeah rick, you wish!!!111
i like Sid; he certainly had his team playing good offense this year.

WPO, i believe this thread is at least partially tongue in cheek as there has been rampant speculation about Butch Davis using his job as a stepping stone to something bigger and better.

let me add to some of that satire with this: Let's see how Sid does with his own players.

seriously tho', it is JUST ONE YEAR. a year in which State won some surprising games but finished in conference pretty much where predicted. The tourney run and quick turnaround NIT win were very impressive; but i'm not ready to enshrine the guy for it. We'll see over the next 3-4 years what he brings to the table. (Resisting.eating.joke.)
There is simply no way Sid will be able to meet the ridiculous expectations of success-starved wuffie nation next season and in proceeding seasons.

Good luck, Sid.

Well, the Bobcats had serious interest. And word is a couple other teams are sniffing around as well, so it isn't as tongue in cheek as you might think. Either way, we're gonna have to increase his pay.

And, I'll repeat for the ribbing impaired, you wish.
Actually the bubbacats are going after larry brown ... and plan to draft brandan wright in the first round, just to piss off all State fans ;P
I imagine that pro teams have interests in both Sid and Butch... what i saw as the joking part was the "backatcha" component (to the myriad of ABC state & wake fans who buy into all that stuff)

gotcha, kid

Pro interest, in both coaches and kids, is a blessing and a curse I suppose.
now back to more important matters:

Sid?

You have lost me Rick??
this is a hoot. frankly I think Roy has a heavier expectation burden than Sid this year, and the press hasn't made it any easier with respect to Barnes. I think State will do fine this year with the new lineup. there's no allowing for the NCAA, which skipped a 10-6 VT team last year, but I'd be happy with .500 ACC this year and some improvement next year
Ding!
No doubt though that Sid needs to have State make the NCAA's this year. He has a good mix of experience and talent. UNC won't have any problem making the dance this year IMO
I don't understand the bump. Is there an inside joke I'm missing out on?
Wanted to sidetrack SS from his China threads.

There is no thread he can't/won't turn into a china thread.
I don't think I'll get in you two guys way on this one
